Long Wednesday started half way up a mountain… camera equipment, dollies and every piece of film equipment possible was carried on our backs to the peak of the Brecon Beacons. Heavy rain was pouring down upon us and strong winds were trying to knock us off our feet! Just when we thought the end was near we realised it was merely a ridge and we were in fact only half way. Two hours later when the stunt horse arrived it was all stations go. The next four hours proceeded to involve Richard running around the mountain with the camera capturing as many shots of the horse as possible before the sun set. After the light failed us it was time to move to our next location. We considered mutiny, but a collaborative spirit had sparked inside us and we kept going! After eighteen hours on that cold, wet December it was finally time to go home and Long Wednesday was born.
For the last 5 years Long Wednesday has been providing film and video services for several clients and our staff have been working in and around the Film and Television industry in many capacities. The company director, Richard Swingle trained in the camera department with a huge variety of Film and TV crews, including the BBC on the likes of ‘Dr Who, Torchwood, Merlin, Vicar of Dibley and the Sarah Jane Adventures’.
